Abstract
The study analyzes Indigenous peoples' territorial property rights in relation to environmental conservation and territorial justice through a systematic review of 21 articles from Scopus and Scielo. Findings highlight that recognizing these rights is crucial for ecosystem protection and Indigenous autonomy but faces threats such as legal insecurity and extractive expansion. Strengthening legal frameworks, accelerating land titling, and promoting participatory governance are recommended to safeguard Indigenous territories and foster sustainable development aligned with their worldview.
Key words: right to territorial ownership, indigenous population, indigenous land tenure, dispossession, ethnic identity reclamation
